Full Job Description

Position Summary

Rye Electric is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the electrical construction industry. This individual will play a key role in expanding our market presence, developing strategic client relationships, and driving revenue growth across commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and other electrical construction sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully closing new business,

developing long-term client partnerships, and generating profitable project opportunities. This role requires a strong understanding of the electrical construction market, industry trends, contracting methods, and the ability to engage decision-makers at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

● Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the electrical

construction market.

● Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, facility

managers, engineers, architects, and key industry stakeholders.

● Generate and manage a robust pipeline of prospective projects and clients.

● Lead business development efforts from initial contact through contract execution.

● Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth objectives.

● Attend industry events, networking functions, trade associations, and client meetings to

expand market visibility.

● Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership teams

to position Rye Electric for project opportunities.

● Research market trends, upcoming projects, and competitor activity to identify

opportunities for growth.

● Assist in developing proposals, presentations, qualifications packages, and client-facing

materials.

● Maintain accurate records of business development activities, opportunities, and

forecasts within the company's CRM system.

● Support contract negotiations and project handoff to operations teams upon award.

● Establish and maintain a strong understanding of Rye Electric's capabilities, services,

and strategic goals.

Qualifications

● Minimum 10 years of successful business development, sales, or client

relationship management experience within the electrical construction industry.

● Demonstrated history of securing and closing new business opportunities.

● Strong network of industry contacts including general contractors, developers, owners,

and design professionals.

● Thorough understanding of electrical construction processes, project delivery methods,

estimating, and contracting.

● Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and long-term client relationships.

● Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

● Strong organizational and time management abilities.

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

● Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry

events.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience working for an electrical contractor or specialty subcontractor.

● Knowledge of commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, renewable energy, or

mission-critical construction markets.

● Existing relationships within Southern California's construction and development

community.

● Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related

field preferred.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
