Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, bilingual (English/Spanish) collections professional with a proven track record in consumer finance, auto lending, or third-party collections. This role involves managing a portfolio of delinquent auto loan accounts, negotiating repayment solutions, and resolving disputes in a firm yet respectful and compliant manner. Ideal candidates bring a blend of empathy, assertiveness, and goal-driven focus, along with excellent bilingual communication skills.

As a Senior Bilingual Collections Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in preserving portfolio performance, minimizing losses, and maintaining customer relationships throughout the collections cycle—from early-stage delinquency to repossession support.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound & Inbound Collections: Proactively make and receive high-volume calls to/from customers in various stages of delinquency.
Bilingual Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally in both English and Spanish to educate borrowers, review loan terms, and propose solutions.
Account Resolution & Negotiation: Negotiate payment arrangements, extensions, or settlements that align with company policy and borrower capacity while minimizing charge-offs.
Documentation & Compliance: Accurately record all customer interactions, payment arrangements, and skip tracing activity in the loan servicing system in compliance with FDCPA, UDAAP, and company policy.
Skip Tracing & Recovery Support: Utilize skip tracing tools and investigative techniques to locate borrowers and assets. Coordinate with repossession and legal teams as needed.
Hardship Evaluation: Identify genuine hardship situations and collaborate with internal stakeholders for workout options, payment relief, or account restructuring.
Performance & Quality Metrics: Consistently meet or exceed daily/weekly performance targets including contact rate, promises kept, and dollars collected while maintaining compliance and call quality standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of experience in consumer debt collections, ideally in auto finance or secured lending.
Proven success with payment recovery, account negotiation, and high-volume calling environments.
Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written (required).
Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills with the ability to remain professional and composed in sensitive conversations.
Solid understanding of FDCPA, FCRA, and state-specific regulations.
Comfortable working with skip tracing platforms and loan servicing software.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.

Work Environment & Compensation

Full-time position, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays.
