About Unif Health

Unif Health is an established occupational health services company serving the San Francisco Bay Area. We maintain a 4.9-star client rating at our Berkeley clinic. Our services include DOT medical exams, drug and alcohol testing, respiratory clearance, audiometric testing, spirometry, and OSHA surveillance exams.

The Role

We are looking for a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic to join our Berkeley clinic on a part-time basis, performing occupational health examinations and testing. New graduates and recently licensed chiropractors are encouraged to apply — we will provide hands-on training in occupational health protocols and support you in obtaining the required certifications. This is a clinical role focused entirely on occupational health — no chiropractic adjustments or patient panel management required. You will conduct standardized exams and testing for employees of our contracted clients.

Responsibilities

Perform DOT/FMCSA commercial driver medical examinations and issue medical certificates
Conduct OSHA-required respiratory fit evaluations
Perform audiometric (hearing) testing
Perform spirometry (pulmonary function) testing
Conduct urine drug screen collections and related testing procedures
Complete required documentation, medical forms, and electronic records accurately and promptly
Conduct physical agility testing
Conduct direct observation for drug screens
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal (FMCSA, OSHA, DOT) and state regulations
Communicate results and clearance determinations to clients as neededRequirements
Active, unrestricted California Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) license
Must have a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (ME Certificate) from the Department of Transportation (DOT) as an FMCSA-licensed medical examiner, or be willing to obtain certification within 2 weeks.
CAOHC certification for audiometric testing — or willingness to obtain
NIOSH-approved spirometry training — or willingness to obtain
Comfortable performing standardized occupational health exams in a fast-paced clinic environment
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Reliable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience performing DOT physicals or occupational health exams
Familiarity with 49 CFR Part 40 (DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations)
Experience with electronic health records and occupational health documentation
Current NRCME listing on the FMCSA National Registry
