Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional administrative and clerical support within a busy medical office. This role requires strong organizational skills, , and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. , insurance verification, and medical coding is highly valued to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
Schedule appointments using EMR system (WebPT)
Answer, screen, and direct phone calls promptly and courteously
Schedule new patient and follow up appointments accurately and efficiently
Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle as needed.
Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards and health information management protocols.
Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient intake, appointment scheduling, and follow-up procedures.
General office organization and maintenance of patient charts
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a clinical team
Extensive knowledge of insurance benefits, eligibility verification, coverage requirements, and payer guidelines. Strong ability to accurately verify patient insurance coverage, identify benefit limitations, and communicate eligibility and authorization requirements effectively.

Experience

Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is preferred
EHR systems is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (), coding, and medical billing processes is preferred.
Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid procedures is advantageous.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Google office applications are preferred
Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette are necessary for success in this role. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional healthcare environment where attention to detail and compassionate patient interaction are valued highly. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring efficient clinic operations while providing outstanding administrative support to both staff and patients.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
