Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Seamstress Tailor to join our vibrant fashion retail team. In this role, you will bring garments to life through expert sewing, alterations, and garment construction, ensuring each piece meets our high standards of quality and style. Your craftsmanship will help customers look and feel their best, whether they’re seeking custom apparel, alterations, or ready-to-wear fashion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your sewing expertise in a dynamic environment that celebrates creativity and precision.

Responsibilities

Perform clothing alterations to improve fit, style, or comfort for a diverse range of garments including men’s and women’s wear.
Construct new garments from patterns using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and garment construction skills.
Operate pressing machines and press garments to achieve crisp finishes and professional presentation.
Use fabric knowledge to select appropriate materials and ensure proper handling during sewing and finishing processes.
Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs, offering style advice, and ensuring satisfaction with finished products.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sewing areas and pressing stations.
Follow detailed instructions for garment assembly, stitching, and finishing to ensure quality standards are consistently met.

Requirements

Proven experience in fashion retail or a related field with strong skills in clothing alterations and garment sewing.
Proficiency with sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, pressing machines, and press operation.
Knowledge of fabric materials and their properties to ensure proper handling during construction or alteration.
Ability to perform precise stitching and garment construction with attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about their needs.
Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production is highly desirable.
Basic math skills for measuring fabrics, taking measurements accurately, and calculating fabric requirements.
