Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will assist the accounting manager with the full cycle of accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will support our company's financial department with billing operations, reconciling accounts, and communicating effectively with clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization committed to excellence in financial management.

Responsibilities

Process customer invoices accurately using billing software Field Routes and accounting system QuickBooks.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts through professional client communication.
Reconcile customer accounts regularly, ensuring all debits and credits are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Manage collections account activities, including payment processing, data entry, and account analysis to optimize cash flow.
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements.
Utilize Excel data analysis skills, including formulas and spreadsheets, to evaluate account status and generate detailed reports for management review.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on accounts receivable management.
Strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, or similar systems; experience with billing software is a plus.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail; familiarity with 10 key typing is preferred.
Ability to analyze complex Excel spreadsheets and perform Excel data analysis effectively.
Strong customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for client communication.
Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles relevant to receivables processes.
Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining deadlines.
