About Optimize U Asheville

Optimize U Asheville is a small, growing specialty medical practice focused on hormone optimization, metabolic health, weight management, peptide therapy, and recovery services.

We provide highly personalized care in a setting where patients are known, relationships matter, and each team member has a meaningful role in the day-to-day success of the clinic.

We’re looking for someone who wants to become an integral part of our practice, learn quickly, take ownership of their work, and grow into greater responsibility over time.

Position Overview

Join Optimize U Asheville as a Medical Assistant / Clinic Coordinator and become an integral part of a growing specialty medical practice focused on hormone optimization, metabolic health, and helping patients feel and perform their best.

This position offers the opportunity to work directly with the provider while helping deliver an exceptional patient experience and keeping the clinic operating efficiently each day.

Medical experience is certainly valued, but we believe professionalism, dependability, and the ability to learn are just as important. We’re willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Answering phones and assisting patients professionally
Returning patient phone calls and messages
Scheduling new and existing patients
Greeting and checking patients in and out
Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
Performing independent blood draws
Learning our services, treatments, and clinic workflows
Assisting with medication preparation and related workflows
Managing inventory and supplies
Completing electronic medical record documentation and administrative tasks
Maintaining a clean, organized, welcoming clinic
Helping improve clinic operations and workflows
Assisting with patient communication and follow-up

Phlebotomy is a required part of this position. Previous experience is preferred, but training can be provided. A candidate without prior phlebotomy experience must be willing and able to become independently competent with blood draws within approximately 30–60 days.

As your skills and responsibilities grow, there will be opportunities to assist with additional administrative projects, operational improvements, marketing initiatives, billing follow-up, payroll support, and other areas of the practice.

Experience and Background

We are open to candidates from a wide range of backgrounds.

Previous experience in healthcare, customer service, administration, EMS, hospitality, retail, fast-paced environments, or other fields may all translate well to this role. We believe many of the technical aspects of this position can be taught to the right person.

What matters most is that you are dependable, professional, able to learn and retain new information, communicate well, take ownership of your responsibilities, and genuinely care about providing an exceptional patient experience.

Experience with our specific electronic medical record is not expected. Training will be provided.

Schedule

This is a Monday–Friday, full-time position, and full-time availability is strongly preferred.

For an exceptional candidate, we are open to discussing a flexible schedule if it meets the needs of both the employee and the clinic.

Compensation and Benefits

$18–$30 per hour based on experience and demonstrated capabilities
