Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and tech-forward Controller specializing in Commercial Real Estate to lead our financial operations and ensure robust financial management within our property portfolio. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and treasury functions related to commercial real estate assets. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to managing complex financial systems, ensuring accuracy in financial statements, and driving strategic financial planning to support our growth objectives.

Duties

1. Cash management to include loan paydowns and draws.

2. Prepare financial statements for internal review, Lenders and government agencies’ tax reporting.

3. Supervision of Accounts Receivable to include accurate tenant billings of rent & CAM and posting of tenant receipts.

4. Oversee CAM reconciliation and collection.

5. Supervise monthly reconciliations of the general ledger.

6. Prepare and file all local & tax returns such as: city business license, permits and personal property taxes.

7. Coordinate submission of year end financials to CPA for tax returns.

8. Back-up duties: Accounts payable management including vendor documentation and 1099 processing, monthly bank reconciliations, property tax appeals documentation, collection related issues & other related accounting functions.

9. Review of lender loan statements to validate interest charged and loan balances.

10. Prepare monthly 401k spreadsheets indicating employee/employer contributions for transmittal to plan administrator.

11. Generate and submit semi-monthly payroll to Payroll Co.

12. Update Real Estate schedule and other data bases.

Skills

1. Proficiency in YARDI Voyager (version 7s & later updates)

2. Skills in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Outlook, and Word)

3. Proficiency in AI

4. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (minimum)

5. 5-7 years minimum Accounting experience in commercial real estate.

6. Adept at planning and analyzing financial information

7. Strong analytical, organizational and presentation skills

8. Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships

9. Energetic team player and can work with minimum supervision

10. Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

11.Leadership capabilities to oversee Accounting staff

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
