Full Job Description

We are seeking a Spiritual Care Coordinator (FT or PT) to join the Bethany family.

This position assesses the spiritual needs of our patients and families then coordinates with local clergy to meet those needs. We serve patients within a 35-mile radius of our Greentree office in private residences, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Typical hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm plus on-call for urgent psychosocial needs (monthly rotation with other team members). Spiritual care experience required, hospice experience preferred

Requirements:

Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (B.D., M.Div. or equivalent theological degree), or a degree in counseling, or equivalent experience. Prefer at least 2 CPE units.
Experience with families/caregivers and patients, death and dying.
Comfort in an interfaith setting.
Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values.
Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
Vehicle, driver’s license and car insurance
Understanding of hospice philosophy and needs of the terminally ill (we can help you with this one!)
Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting
Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers
Satisfactory criminal background check
Presentation of negative TB test or CXR as required by state law
Demonstrate good judgement and excellent observation and communication skills
Ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner
Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision
Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations
Desire to be part of the best hospice team in western Pennsylvania
