Full Job Description

Stark Truss was founded in 1963 and is a leading manufacturer and supplier of wood components for the construction industry. With over 60 years of experience supplying large multi-family and commercial developments, single family track and custom homes, agricultural buildings. Our construction product line includes roof and floor trusses, wall panels, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), I-joists, glulam posts, pre-built stairs, Stark Lam beams and connector hardware.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Risk Manager will oversee the company’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the company.

INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination of Legal Defense / Legal Actions

Coordination with Insurance Carriers and attorneys regarding actions filed against the Company and defense strategies.
Research and compiling of facts and documentation to support defense and answer interrogatories.
Answer interrogatories for statement of facts and production of documents for discovery.
Coordination with expert witnesses for defense.
Preparation of employee witnesses for depositions.
Assist with payment collection issues.

Customer and Service Contracts

Review of all customer and service contracts
Tracking signed contracts for completion and return from customer
Logging, documenting, and filing customer contracts and associated paperwork:
Contract documents
Email correspondence
Insurance certificates
Oversight of Turnkey Projects
Logging the project, obtaining copies of and filing:
Installation subcontract documents.
Subcontractor’s Insurance certificate and follow up.
Subcontractor’s site-specific safety policy.

Properties Management / Oversight

Preparation and completion of leases.
Tracking termination dates and renewals.
Coordinating property sales, purchases, and closings (including digital filing).
Listing properties for sale and tracking progress.

Insurance Policy Management

Broad understanding of various insurance programs and policies.
Logging and tracking of insurance certificates from vendors, subcontractors, and tenants.
Ordering certificates of insurance for customers as requested.
Scanning and emailing of court summons’ to insurance agent and carriers.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Identify and analyze company risks, exposures, and hazards. Analyze exposures to determine the potential extent of financial loss, resulting from loss of productive staff, loss of properties, facilities, equipment, or capital.
Conducts risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends.
Establishes policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organizations services and departments.
Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements.
Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.
Draft letters and responses for managers and executives for various purposes.
Drafting Job Offers, Non-Compete Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Non-Disclosure documents.
Support other business priorities as assigned.

SKILLS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Legal Degree preferred but not required
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skill.
Must be organized and give attention to detail as well as exercise independent judgement.
Must also be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Routine hours in a professional office environment.
Periodic travel to multiple plant locations (manufacturing).
Flexible work hours more than 40 hours per week.

Pay will be based on demonstrated proficiency and experience.
