Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our specialized healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in endoscopic procedures, patient care, and clinical support, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in preparing patients for procedures, assisting physicians during endoscopic interventions, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic medical environment that values professionalism, precision, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
Assist physicians during endoscopic interventions such as colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies, and other minimally invasive procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
Maintain sterile environments by adhering to infection control protocols and proper sterilization of equipment.
Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while complying with HIPAA regulations.
Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients and assess recovery before discharge or transfer.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, technicians, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes and procedural efficiency.
Stay current with advancements in endoscopic techniques, medical documentation standards, and relevant clinical guidelines such as ICD coding and Cerner system utilization.

Experience

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with current state certification required.
Proven experience in endoscopy nursing or similar outpatient procedural settings preferred.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
Knowledge of aseptic technique, sterilization protocols, and infection control practices essential for safe procedure support.
Experience working within hospital environments including Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
Prior exposure to sedation management, IV infusion administration, and patient assessment during invasive procedures highly desirable.
Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to gastrointestinal or respiratory systems is beneficial.
Additional experience in critical care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine enhances ability to manage complex cases effectively.
