Preserving the Art of Tailoring Since 1971

At Manno Clothing, tailoring isn't just another department—it's at the heart of everything we do.

For over 55 years, we've built our reputation on exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and helping people look and feel their best. As one of Michigan's premier clothing and tailoring houses, we specialize in premium menswear, custom clothing, alterations, and increasingly, women's custom garments and alterations.

As one of our longtime master tailors prepares for retirement, we're looking for an experienced Alterations Specialist to join our team.

Whether you're looking for a few days each week, returning to the workforce, semi-retired, or searching for a long-term career home where your craftsmanship is appreciated, we'd love to meet you.

If you enjoy solving fitting challenges, working with quality garments, and taking pride in exceptional workmanship, you'll fit right in at Manno Clothing.

Responsibilities

Perform alterations on men's and women's garments
Hem trousers, dresses, skirts, and sleeves
Jacket sleeve shortening and lengthening
Jacket side adjustments
Trouser waist, seat, thigh, and taper alterations
Shirt tapering and shortening
Zipper replacements and repairs
Bridal and formalwear alterations (preferred but not required)
Hand sewing and finishing work
Collaborate with our sales and custom clothing team to provide an exceptional client experience
Maintain the high standards of craftsmanship Manno Clothing is known for

Qualifications

We're looking for someone experienced in many of the following:

Men's tailoring
Women's alterations
Hand sewing
Industrial sewing machines
Garment fitting
Pattern interpretation
Independent problem-solving
Strong attention to detail
Pride in producing high-quality work

Experience with bridal alterations is a plus, but not required.
