Full Job Description

Grocery Buyer

The role of a Grocery Buyer at Affiliated Foods Inc. is to ensure Service Level is maintained to Category Goal levels and ensure Spoils goal levels are also achieved. This position is also responsible for procuring promotional inventory to make to support all Marketing Events.

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

· Support the Customers in all activities.

· Maintain adequate inventory levels to maximize profitability.

· Monitor and manage spoils and supply waste to minimize impact.

· Communicate with the Vendor Community to ensure flow of goods and services.

· Resolve purchasing issues between departments and or vendors.

· Ensure Promotional Goods are on time and readily available for numerous coinciding events.

· Work alongside the Category Manager to support their goals and initiatives.

· Represent the company with vendors and customers in a positive manner.

Experience:

· Grocery Store Wholesale Perishable Buying experience strongly preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 full year of buying experience in perishable.

· 5 Years Buying Experience or Any appropriate combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

· Effective oral and written communication skills

· Computer Literacy-Proficient in Microsoft Office

· Strong Interpersonal Skills

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Must be able to work independently with ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
