Position Overview

The Client Services Shift Lead (CS Shift Lead) is a front-of-house leader responsible for delivering an exceptional, hospitality-driven client experience while supporting smooth daily operations at the front desk. This role helps lead the shift throughout the day, upholds client service standards, and supports training and coaching of the Client Services team.

Reports to: Client Services Supervisor/Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

The CS Shift Lead directly supports the Client Services Manager/Supervisor by maintaining strong lobby presence, high-quality client communication, reinforcing Wag’s service standards, and helping prevent service breakdowns. This role helps drive business impact by improving client satisfaction, enhancing tour and conversion readiness, and ensuring consistent execution of service behaviors that build trust, loyalty, and repeat visits.

· Strong lobby flow and smooth check-in/check-outs with minimal bottlenecks.

· Reduced guest concerns through proactive problem solving and escalation support.

· Improved training support, coaching, and reinforcement.

· Increased client adoption of upgrades, add-ons, and seasonal offerings.

· Strong teamwork, communication, and shift organization.

Core Responsibilities

Client Experience & Front Desk Execution

· Ensure warm greetings, professional presentation, and high-touch client interaction.

· Support daily front desk operations including check-in, check-out, tours, and client communications.

· Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently and professionally.

· Assist in ensuring guest profiles, documentation, shift notes, and client communications are accurate and complete.

Shift Leadership & Team Support

· Help lead the Client Services shift by supporting role assignments, maintaining momentum, leading & attending huddles and keeping the team organized and aligned.

· Act as the point person for front desk questions and real-time guidance throughout the day.

· Help with day-to-day issues that could impact the client experience.

· Reinforce standards consistently and help ensure daily checklists and priorities are completed.

Training & Coaching

· Reinforce onboarding and training plans as directed by management, ensuring new team members receive structured, consistent skill development.

· Deliver and model Wag Hotels standards, reinforcing training in real time and ensuring procedures are performed correctly and safely.

· Effective trainer and role model, confidently reviewing training materials and delivering instruction in 1:1 and small groups.

· Provide timely, objective feedback to management on trainee progress, strengths, and performance gaps to support development decisions.

· Coach in the moment, offering corrective feedback and guidance to ensure training translates into consistent daily performance.

Communication & Service Recovery Support

· Support initial service recovery conversations by gathering information, calming concerns, and escalating appropriately.

· Communicate professionally with clients regarding reservation adjustments, policy needs, or documentation requirements.

· Ensure concerns are documented clearly and routed to leadership when necessary.

Sales & Client Relationship Building

· Confidently guide clients through services, programs, packages, and add-ons that enhance their pet’s stay.

· Support tour execution, and first stay guest updates with hospitality, confidence, and conversion-focused behaviors.

· Reinforce client education on offerings and seasonal promotions through warm and consultative communication.

Operational Readiness

· Maintain cleanliness, organization, and a professional appearance of the lobby and front desk.

· Support peak arrivals, peak departures, and completion of daily task lists.

· Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure the client experience remains smooth and consistent.

Required Qualifications

· Strong customer service and hospitality execution in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to learn and confidently use front-of-house systems and tools.

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

· Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.

· Must obtain Pet First Aid/CPR within the first 90 days of employment, with renewals every 2 years (provided by Wag Hotels).

Preferred Qualifications

· Prior shift lead, trainer, or senior associate experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

· Ability to travel when needed

· Ability to be around dogs and cats for an extended period of time
