Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Specialist – Major Deviations Investigator to join our Manufacturing and Quality team in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.

This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience leading major deviation investigations, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), developing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex manufacturing and quality events.

The successful candidate will serve as the investigation owner, driving deviations from initiation through closure while ensuring compliance with GMP requirements and company procedures.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage Major Deviation investigations from initiation through closure.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Whys).
Develop, implement, and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Perform Effectiveness Verification (EV) to confirm CAPA effectiveness.
Coordinate investigations with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Validation, and other cross-functional teams.
Evaluate the impact of deviations on products, processes, and systems.
Facilitate investigation meetings and drive timely completion of action items.
Prepare clear, accurate, and GMP-compliant technical documentation.
Ensure investigations meet internal timelines and regulatory expectations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring trends and recommending process improvements.

Qualifications

Master's degree or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline is a plus OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environment.
Experience leading or supporting deviation investigations.
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, and Effectiveness Verification (EV).
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience investigating Major Deviations in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Quality Systems.
Experience with risk assessments and investigation tools.
Experience working in aseptic or biologics manufacturing environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Education:

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:
