Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to work directly with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental disabilities. The Support Staff will provide one-on-one support to clients helping them to progress towards accomplishing personalized goals, working towards independence. This role focuses on building social, behavioral, communication, and daily living skills in home, school, and community settings.

The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children, young adults, and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies designed specifically for each client
Provide one-on-one mentoring and behavioral support to autistic clients
Support clients in developing communication, social, emotional regulation, and independent living skills
Collect accurate session data and document client progress
Reinforce positive behaviors using evidence-based strategies
Assist clients during community outings, recreational activities, and social interactions
Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment
Communicate regularly with supervisors, caregivers, and clinical team members regarding client progress and concerns
Attend required training sessions, team meetings, and supervision appointments
Follow all company policies regarding confidentiality, professionalism, and client safety

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Experience and/or interest in working with children or individuals with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
Ability to follow clinical treatment plans and behavioral guidance from qualified management team members
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
Ability to pass background check and any required clearances
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Skills

Patience, empathy, and strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Experience with challenging behaviors with children or youth is a plus
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a clinical team

Physical Requirements

Ability to actively engage with children during sessions and activities
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and move quickly, as needed throughout two to five hour sessions
