Ride Operator: Pony Rides (Part-Time, Seasonal)

About Sweet Eats Fruit Farm

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is Central Texas's premier agro-tainment destination—a farm-themed amusement park spanning 80 acres. As a working farm with activities for families and people of all ages, our mission is to Help Families Make Magical Memories.

Position Details

Schedule: At least 10-30 hours per week/weekend with potential for additional weekday hours if desired
Duration: Seasonal/Temporary position from mid-September through October, with potential opportunities to continue through our November and December seasons
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time, Seasonal, Temporary

Job Description

Our lead-line pony rides are a guest favorite at Sweet Eats Fruit Farm. This position requires dedication to both exceptional animal care and outstanding customer service.

Animal Care Responsibilities:

Brushing and grooming horses
Picking hooves and applying fly spray
Proper saddling and feeding
Consistent training and care

Customer Service Responsibilities:

Providing clear riding instructions
Helping children who may be nervous or scared
Maintaining patience and ensuring safety around horses
Creating positive experiences for all guests

Additional Duties: A major component of this role involves farm chores including feeding animals, cleaning stalls, and maintaining feed and water stations. You may also work at other attractions including the petting zoo, apple cannons, and pedal carts.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer care and service
Maintain high standards of animal care
Conduct safe lead-line pony rides
Set up and prepare stations for daily operations
Keep work areas clean and presentable
Greet and assist customers throughout their visit
Communicate safety rules clearly to guests
Complete daily farm chores and maintenance tasks
Support various farm attractions as needed

Requirements

Availability to work 10-30 hours per week/weekend
Physical ability to sit, stand, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
Comfortable being on your feet and walking horses throughout the day
Genuine enjoyment of working with children and families
Interest in and aptitude for animal care
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Excellent conflict resolution and communication abilities
Clear, strong speaking voice for giving instructions and information
Reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts
