Job Summary:
Rogers Machinery is seeking a highly organized individual with a background in industrial electrical or mechanical systems and strong computer skills to join our team as a Quality Control Technician.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily inspections of machines throughout the build process, as well as inspecting received items upon request. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a fast learner, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Flexibility in job assignments and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform inspections on production department builds.
- Assist in enforcing current RMC build standards
- Reporting non-conformances and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Generate and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) for any discrepant material.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to compare to produced goods.
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing rework, and inputting data into quality database.
- Training the production team on quality control measures as necessary.
- Proposing improvements to the production process.
- Maintaining inspection/test equipment to ensure it is safe, functional and within calibration standards.
- Assist QA leadership in physical control of non-conforming products and materials.
- Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities.
- Participate and support continuous improvement objectives of the departments.
- Comply with safety and department procedures.
Additional Job Duties:
- Inspection of incoming components.
- Performance of QA related warehousing operations including transactions, storage, security, and accountability of materials.
- Field questions from RMC staff.
- Other duties as required by the QA Manager.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with standard measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measure, dial indicator, micrometer, height gauge, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office Products)
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with people with different skill and knowledge levels.
- Ability to multi-task and shift tasks frequently.
Preferred Skills:
- Microsoft Products ( Word, Excel, CoPilot)
- Familiarity with Rogers Compressors.
- Familiarity with Rogers Vacuum Systems.
- Proficiency troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.
- Trade School or two-year degree preferred.
- Quality control experience (1-2 years preferred).
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to routinely lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
