Job Type: Contract / Travel
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Position Overview

Boone Health is seeking experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses (ED RNs) to join a fast-paced adult community emergency department. The department manages approximately 25,000 cases annually with a 16-bed ED and a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4.

The ideal candidate will have strong emergency nursing skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult patients.
Perform patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions according to hospital policies.
Monitor patients and recognize changes in clinical condition.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Provide exceptional customer service and patient-centered care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Meditech.
Assist with high-acuity and emergency procedures.
Support team members and contribute to a positive, professional work environment.
Follow established safety, infection-control, and emergency department protocols.

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 3 years of RN experience required.
3–5 years of ED experience preferred.
Strong Emergency Department nursing skills required.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-admission emergency department.
Strong communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
Must be comfortable caring primarily for adult emergency patients.

Clinical SkillsLine Management – Required

IV insertion
PICC/Central Line management

Cardiac Skills – Required

Obtain 12-lead EKG
Telemetry interpretation
Cardioversion
Defibrillation

Airway Skills – Required

Procedural sedation
CPAP/BiPAP
Ventilator management
Trach care

Behavioral Health – Preferred

Experience with chemical dependency patients

Patient Population

This is an adult community emergency department with minimal trauma and pediatric patient volume.

Common diagnoses/procedures include:

Stroke
STEMI
Sepsis
Respiratory diseases
Cardiac diseases
Orthopedic conditions
Other adult emergency conditions

Pay: $55.00 - $63.00 per hour
