Full Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include the following:

Contribute as a “key” team member to the overall success of a rapidly growing department.
Coordinates infusion and nursing services which includes handling incoming referral calls, completing referral forms, insurance coverage, and ordered treatment.
Strong computer software applications skills including, learning and utilizing key software system(s).
Responsible for transcribing detailed and accurate information into the computer system correctly to include but not limited to demographics, Insurance information, Physician information, Nursing agency, Drug information, and patient information.
Knowledge of, government, commercial, PPO, HMO, primary and secondary coverage policies and health plan benefit interpretation.
Remains knowledgeable on product and insurance coverage considerations in order to inform stakeholders (ie. patients, providers, internal/external departments, etc.) of deductibles, copay, copay assistance and other benefit information
Securely handles all communications including faxes, emails, texts, and vmails as appropriate.
Ability to grasp and retain new concepts and incorporate them in the day-to-day workflow.
Ability to understand and collect required comprehensive information and summarize to facilitate key workflow decisions.

· Responds to telephone and written inquiries from clients, providers, and in-house departments.

Logs and follows through on all new referrals in Excel Logs on a continuous basis as required.
Communicates with and documents all communications and authorizations with case managers, nursing agencies, patient/caregiver, physicians, insurance and pharmacists into the computer system.

· Develops and maintains positive client and patient relations and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure requests and questions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

Consults with the department management on questions and overall go /no go decisions regarding the patient treatment.
Responsible for communicating details of delivery to various infusion suite or doctors offices
Contributes to ongoing communication with nursing agencies, referral sources, patients, and doctor’s offices.
Coordinates with sales teams on referrals and works with team to obtain missing referral information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical issues in “layman” terms. Fluency in a second language is a plus.
Must be friendly professional and cooperative with a good aptitude for customer service and problem solving.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)

Education and/or Experience:

Must have a High School diploma or Graduation Equivalent Diploma (G.E.D.) or higher
Prior experience in a home health infusion company is required.
Prior experience in a consumer related business is preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
Clerical or administrative support background
