Overview
Our award-winning, upscale hotel is seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients, visitors, and guests, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk.

Job Description:

This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to understand requests, respond with appropriate action, and provide accurate information such as outlet hours, local attractions, and directions to requested venues.
Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information, including the number of guests and room rate. Make an appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs. Code electronic keys, certificates, and coupons as appropriate. Requires continual standing and movement throughout front office areas.
Verify and process credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash; make change and balance as assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers, travelers’ checks, and other forms of payment. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.
Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear communication. Input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages, and facsimiles for customers as requested.
Close guest accounts at the time of checkout and ensure guests’ satisfaction. In the event of dissatisfaction, research and an attempt to resolve the problem within established guidelines may include turning a problem over to a supervisor.
Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and resolving complications such as location changes or credit issues. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating and air conditioning, etc. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.
Take initiative in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures, follows safety and security procedures and rules.
Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.

Job Requirements

Hotel experience preferred, but not required.
Nights, Weekends, and Holidays required.
Computer skills enough to learn hotel operating system, MS office, and internet.
Ability to work with all types of people.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while managing client records.

Skills

Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficient in office management practices to ensure smooth daily operations.
High level of computer literacy to navigate various software programs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients professionally.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
