Job description:

Metrolina Nephrology Associates is the region’s most recognized and experienced nephrology group. The practice has been on the forefront of the treatment and management of kidney disease for more than 40 years. Composed of 41 Nephrologists and 44 Nephrology Advanced Practice Providers, our practice serves patients from eight convenient locations.

It is our mission to provide the most comprehensive nephrology services available with a personal commitment to enhance our patients’ quality of life through professional activity and dedication.

Job Overview

Daily clinics are prepared for in advance.
Reviews lab reports daily
Manages and prioritizes incoming and outgoing phone calls
Administers Intradermal, IM, IV, and subcutaneous Injections
Demonstrates Basic Assessment Skills through completion of nurse visits
Performs clinical tasks according to practice policy
Suture/staple removal
Wound care involving sterile technique
EKG’s
Utilizes patient assistance options
Performs precise venous and capillary phlebotomy
Works prescription refills according to practice policy
Communicates with ESRD Coordinator for dialysis seating
Ensures follow through of established strategies to improve the patient experience
Resolves patient complaints; reports unresolved complaints to the Site Manager promptly
Delivers high quality customer service
Utilizes workflows that maximize visit compliance
Utilizes established workflows which maximize overall office efficiency
Schedules appointments
Updates EMR
Processes tasks
Demonstrates an understanding of Immunization, Lab Order, Charge and Problem entry as well as their associated workflows
Reviews encounter forms for orders
Completes forms
Schedules outside procedures
Schedules hospital follow up appointments according to policy
Arranges Hospital Admissions
Obtains prior authorizations
Follows operating instructions and notifies appropriate personnel of any malfunctions.
Completes required CEU’s
Completes OSHA required logs as assigned
Completes annual OSHA and HIPAA training
Assists with administration of PPD, Hepatitis B and flu to employees
Completes staff competencies

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience. Clinic experience preferred.
Must hold a current and valid NC RN/LPN license. Current CPR certificate.
Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, structure, functions and community resources.
Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nursing guidelines and clinic policies and procedures.
Proficient in Word, Excel, EMR's and Outlook. Competent in Learning Management Systems.

Attendance: Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position. The ability to consistently adhere to scheduled work hours and fulfill job responsibilities in a timely manner is critical to the success of the role and the overall operations of the team.
