Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator
Full-Time | In-Office | Starting Pay: $22/hour + Potential Overtime
Put Your Creativity to Work — and See the Results
South City Print is a well-established, locally owned commercial printing and direct-mail company that has served businesses and organizations for more than 38 years.
We are looking for a creative, organized and motivated Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator who combines strong design skills with an interest in marketing and communications.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to do more than simply produce artwork. You will help create marketing materials, put real marketing campaigns into action, communicate with customers, work with print and direct-mail projects, and help us continue developing new ways to serve our customers.
We are especially interested in someone who demonstrates creativity, initiative and follow-through. We will provide the overall marketing direction, but we want someone who can take that direction, bring ideas to the table, and help turn ideas into completed projects — without needing to be told every next step.
This is not a sales, prospecting or cold-calling position.
What You’ll Do – Graphic Design
· Design postcards, brochures, flyers, letters, signs, displays, email graphics and other marketing materials for South City Print and our customers.
· Take a basic concept, message or direction and develop it into an attractive, professional finished piece.
· Modify and update existing customer artwork.
· Prepare accurate, production-ready files for commercial printing.
· Work with photographs, graphics, typography and other visual elements to improve the effectiveness of marketing materials.
· Help maintain consistency in South City Print’s own branding and marketing communications.
Marketing & Communications
· Help implement marketing programs and campaigns developed by South City Print management.
· Assist with direct-mail campaigns, including coordination of creative materials, landing pages and follow-up communications.
· Assist with email marketing and customer communications.
· Help prepare social-media and other digital marketing content.
· Assist with landing pages and web-based marketing materials.
· Use AI tools to help with marketing ideas, content development, research and productivity.
· Help maintain a regular schedule of communications with customers and prospects.
· Look for opportunities to improve the execution and presentation of our marketing.
Customer & Project Support
· Communicate professionally with customers who call or email South City Print for assistance.
· Respond to people who inquire after receiving one of our marketing pieces or other communications.
· Send follow-up emails and notes after conversations or meetings.
· Occasionally participate in customer meetings.
· Help keep projects organized and moving toward completion.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of customer-specific online ordering portals.
Customer interaction will primarily involve people who are already customers, who contact us for assistance, or who respond to our marketing.
What We’re Looking ForRequired
· Strong working proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
· Demonstrated graphic-design ability and strong visual judgment.
· Experience creating materials intended for professional or commercial use.
· Understanding of print-production basics, including bleeds, image resolution, color, fonts and properly prepared print files.
· Creativity, initiative and the ability to turn direction into finished work.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail, organization and follow-through.
· Ability to manage several projects and deadlines at the same time.
· Comfort communicating professionally with customers.
· Comfort learning and using technology.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone with initiative — a person who sees what needs to be done, asks good questions, contributes ideas and helps move a project forward.
Helpful, But Not Required
· Direct mail
· Email marketing
· Websites (WordPress)
· Social-media marketing
· Landing pages
· AI tools
· Commercial printing
· Promotional products
· Online ordering or web-to-print systems
You do not need to arrive knowing everything about printing, direct mail or our systems. We are willing to teach the right person.
Who Will Do Well in This Position?
· Enjoys both graphic design and marketing rather than wanting to do only one.
· Likes taking an idea and figuring out how to make it better.
· Is comfortable receiving direction but does not want to wait for instructions for every step.
· Enjoys variety and working on different types of projects.
· Takes pride in producing accurate, professional work and notices details other people sometimes miss.
· Is curious and willing to learn new tools.
· Enjoys seeing something they designed become an actual printed, mailed or displayed finished product.
· Likes working in a small-company environment where their contribution is visible and important.
About South City Print
South City Print has served businesses and organizations for more than 38 years. Our primary areas of expertise include:
· Essential Business Printing
· Direct Mail Marketing
· Signs, Banners & Displays
· Promotional Products
· Custom Online Company Stores
We have earned a 5.0 Google rating from more than 120 reviews and enjoy many long-standing customer relationships.
Because we are a smaller company, you will have the opportunity to work on many different types of projects and gain practical experience that can be difficult to obtain in a highly specialized position. Your work will not disappear into a large organization — you will be able to see what you create, see how it is used and see the difference your contribution makes.
Schedule & Compensation
· Full-time, in-office position with consistent working hours.
· Starting pay: $22.00 per hour + potential overtime.
· 6–7 paid company holidays.
· After six months, eligibility for paid time off.
· After six months, eligibility for company contribution toward individual health-insurance coverage.
How to Apply
Please email the following to [email protected]:
· Your résumé.
· A brief cover note telling us why this position interests you.
· A portfolio or 3–5 examples of your graphic-design work.
We are less concerned about finding someone who already knows everything and more interested in finding someone who has the design ability, creativity, initiative, organization and desire to learn necessary to grow into this position.
