Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team at Hickory and Heart! We are an established BBQ restaurant that excels in outstanding BBQ and customer service. Our team works a variety of positions and are cross trained. We have a variety of needs which may include Catering, Food Preparation, Foos serving on the line, and Dishwasher. All of our employees are a valuable asset and an essential part of delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers! These roles offer the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where cleanliness, food safety, and teamwork are at the forefront as well as the opportunity for continued growth and expansion. You will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen while assisting with food preparation and supporting the overall flow of service. Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning to support kitchen operations.
Maintain a clean and organized work station by regularly bussing tables, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
Support the kitchen team by operating basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Handle manual tasks including lifting of supplies and equipment while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
Follow strict sanitation standards to uphold health and safety regulations within the restaurant environment.
Assist with food handling duties during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of prepared items to the line or service area.
Support overall kitchen health by adhering to sanitation schedules and food safety management protocols.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours, including assisting with catering or special event setups, if needed.
Ensure all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized following food safety procedures.

Experience

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued!
Familiarity with food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, and kitchen safety standards is advantageous.
Hands-on experience with dishwashing, food handling, or operating kitchen equipment will help you excel in this role.
Knowledge of knife skills, lifting procedures, and general culinary practices is a plus.
Prior experience working in hospitality or catering settings can enhance your ability to thrive in this energetic environment.
