Full Job Description

Part-Time CNA/Phlebotomist (Bilingual Spanish) & Reception Support

Community Free Clinic
Part-Time | Monday-Thursday, 8:15 AM-4:15 PM; 2nd Wednesday of the month until 9 pm
Pay: $17-$20 per hour

Position Summary

The Community Free Clinic is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and bilingual (Spanish/English) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Phlebotomist to join our team. This position provides direct patient support, performs clinical tasks within certification and training, assists with phlebotomy services, and serves as overflow support for our AI-assisted reception system when needed.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with diverse populations, thrives in a mission-driven environment, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.

Essential Responsibilities

Clinical Support

Prepare patients for appointments and assist providers during visits.
Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and other patient information.
Assist with patient intake and rooming procedures.
Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.
Follow infection control, HIPAA, and clinic safety protocols.

Phlebotomy Duties

Perform blood draws and specimen collection, if certified and authorized.
Label, process, and prepare specimens for transport.
Ensure patient comfort and safety during collection procedures.
Maintain accurate records related to specimens and laboratory orders.

Reception and Administrative Support

Provide overflow support for the clinic's AI receptionist system.
Answer incoming calls that require human assistance.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
Assist patients with forms, registration, and general inquiries.
Direct patients to appropriate clinic resources and services.

Team Support

Communicate effectively with providers, volunteers, staff, and patients.
Assist with patient flow and clinic operations.
Participate in training and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications Required

Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
Current CNA certification or current Phlebotomy certification.
Ability and willingness to obtain the missing certification if only one credential is currently held.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred

Both CNA and Phlebotomy certifications.
Experience working in a medical office, clinic, or community health setting.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Experience working with underserved populations.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to perform clinical duties requiring manual dexterity and visual attention.
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

$17-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Certification Assistance

The Clinic may provide financial assistance for obtaining an additional required certification. Employees who receive certification sponsorship may be required to sign a training reimbursement agreement requiring continued employment for a specified period or repayment of training costs if employment ends before that commitment period is fulfilled.
