Facilities Maintenance Lead

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly (35-40 hours per week)

Reports To: Director of Operations

Locations: Charlotte - Sardis Road & University City Blvd

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead to oversee attraction and facility maintenance for our two Charlotte-area locations. This position plays a critical role in delivering a world-class guest experience by ensuring our attractions, equipment, and facilities consistently meet the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, appearance, and functionality.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong troubleshooting skills, maintenance experience, and a passion for taking ownership. The ideal candidate can independently diagnose and resolve issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and maintain high standards without cutting corners.

This person will work alongside and provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to a Maintenance Technician, fostering a collaborative partnership focused on maintaining exceptional facilities, developing technical skills, and achieving shared goals across both locations.

Essential Responsibilities

Oversee attraction and facility maintenance for two Charlotte-area locations.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on attractions, equipment, and facility systems.
Ensure attractions and facilities remain safe, clean, operational, and guest-ready at all times.
Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual inspections in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
Identify issues proactively and develop effective repair solutions.
Perform general facility repairs including basic carpentry, painting, fabrication, and other building maintenance projects.
Coordinate repairs, parts ordering, and vendor services in partnership with the Director of Operations.
Facilitate third-party inspections, including fire system inspections, and maintain required maintenance and compliance documentation.
Partner with and mentor a Maintenance Technician while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Support deep cleaning projects, facility improvements, and other operational needs as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, fabrication, mechanical repair, or a related field.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

Basic welding and fabrication experience.
Basic carpentry, woodworking, or general construction experience.
Experience leading, mentoring, or developing others.
Trade school education or related certifications.
Experience in amusement, entertainment, hospitality, recreation, or similar environments.

Schedule Requirements

Full-time schedule of approximately 35-40 hours per week.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must be willing to respond to occasional emergency maintenance situations outside of regularly scheduled hours.
