Full Job Description

Position: Primary Care Provider – Physician – Part-Time

Clinic Operating Hours & Job Expectations
Clinic Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM ET – 6:00 PM ET
Saturday: 9:00 AM ET – 5:00 PM ET
Sunday: Closed

FCMC Primary Care Provider – General Employment Conditions

In-Person Requirement: This is an in-person position. All Primary Care Providers are required to work in-person.

NC and SC Licensure: All Primary Care Providers are required to obtain licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina.

AI Medical Scribe Adherence: Use of Sunoh.AI (AI Medical Scribe in eClinicalWorks) is compulsory for all primary care providers and behavioral health providers for every patient visit. Sunoh.AI adherence is required for employment at First Care Medical Clinic.

Uniform & Proficiency: Primary Care Providers are expected to abide by the FCMC uniform policy daily (matching scrubs and lab coat) and competently perform and maintain proficiency in all core primary care provider functions.

FCMC Primary Care Provider – Hours, Schedule & Attendance

Shared Staffing Pool & Location Assignment: All Primary Care Providers are part of a shared staffing pool and can be assigned to work in any clinic at any time across North Carolina and South Carolina to ensure adequate patient care coverage as directed by FCMC leadership.

Punctuality & Shift Duration: Shifts begin promptly at 9:00 AM ET. Arrival at 9:00 AM ET constitutes on-time arrival. Shifts end scheduled at 6:00 PM ET; however, all Primary Care Providers are required to remain on duty until the last patient has been treated and all necessary closing duties are completed.

Saturday & Schedule Rotation: All Primary Care Providers provide coverage on Saturdays, even if their primary location is not open (assignments made to other FCMC locations as needed). Primary Care Providers work 5 days per week; if assigned to work Saturday, the provider will receive 1 weekday off.

Meetings: Required weekly conference call at 8:30 AM (e.g., Wednesdays) and monthly in-person provider meeting (e.g., first Thursday of every month in Charlotte).

Schedule Policy: Schedules are determined by FCMC leadership based on clinic needs; FCMC is unable to accommodate requests for customized schedules (e.g., guaranteed days off, specific shift lengths).

Disciplinary Action: Chronic absenteeism, repeated tardiness, failure to maintain clinical competence, or violation of the Code of Conduct are grounds for immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

FCMC Primary Care Provider – Meetings & Communication Schedule

Weekly Conference Call: Every Wednesday at 8:30 AM ET (virtual).

Leadership Reviews: Monthly meeting with FCMC Medical Director.

Monthly Provider Meeting: In-person meeting held on the first Thursday of every month at a designated FCMC office (e.g., Charlotte or Concord).

FCMC Primary Care Provider – Core Duties & Operational Metrics

Comprehensive Primary Care & Clinical Practice

Outpatient Medical Management: Deliver high-quality, full-scope primary care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, including acute care visits, chronic disease management, annual wellness exams, and preventative health screenings.

Integrated Care Handoffs: Actively identify and execute real-time warm handoffs to in-house Behavioral Health Therapists and Psychiatric Providers for patients presenting with co-occurring behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric conditions.

Diagnostic & Diagnostic Workups: Perform structured clinical evaluations, formulate accurate differential diagnoses, and manage targeted treatment plans aligned with evidence-based clinical guidelines.

In-House Services & Ancillary Orders

In-House Laboratory Utilization: Order, interpret, and action results for full-service in-house laboratory testing (e.g., rapid diagnostics, routine blood panels) to guide immediate clinical decision-making.

Specialty Diagnostics & Autonomic Testing: Order and appropriately utilize specialized in-house and outpatient diagnostic services, including diagnostic Ultrasounds and TM-Flow testing (autonomic nervous system and vascular assessment).

Allergy Immunotherapy: Evaluate patients for environmental allergies and manage in-house allergy testing and immunotherapy administration protocols.

Internal & External Referrals: Place appropriate orders for in-house specialty services (Psychiatry and Behavioral Health) and coordinate external subspecialty referrals when clinically indicated.

EHR Workflows, AI Scribe & Time Tracking

Sunoh.AI Mandate: Compulsory use of Sunoh.AI (eCW AI Medical Scribe) for generating real-time clinical documentation during every patient encounter.

Same-Day Chart Closure: Complete and sign off on all encounter notes, diagnostic orders, lab reviews, and prescription refills in eClinicalWorks (eCW) on the day of service.

Activity Tracking: Use eCW to accurately track and log patient-specific activities, including consults, diagnostic reviews, and interdisciplinary care coordination.

Clinical Quality, Compliance & Operations

Quality Metrics & Preventive Care: Meet practice performance benchmarks for preventive screening rates, chronic care management closure, and clinical quality measures.

Provider Meetings & Supervision: Participate actively in mandatory weekly virtual conference calls (Wednesdays at 8:30 AM ET), monthly Medical Director reviews, and monthly in-person provider meetings (first Thursday of the month).

Peer Review & Documentation Audits: Engage in regular chart audits, clinical peer reviews, and operational coaching to maintain documentation excellence, billing compliance, and high standards of care across all clinic locations.
