Location: Charlotte, NC
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Hybrid
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 per year, depending on experience
Reports To: Human Resources Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations. This position will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, payroll support, performance management, and HR reporting.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, bilingual in Spanish, and comfortable supporting employees and managers across multiple HR functions. This role requires strong confidentiality, sound judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and offer letters.
Support new hire orientation and onboarding.
Ensure completion of new hire paperwork, Form I-9, and required employment documentation.
Maintain applicant tracking records.

Employee Relations

Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and employment matters.
Assist with employee counseling, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
Support positive employee engagement and workplace culture.

Benefits Administration

Assist with employee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, COBRA, and leave programs.
Support open enrollment and benefit changes.
Respond to employee benefit inquiries.

HR Compliance

Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, COBRA, HIPAA, DOT, IRA, and prevailing wage requirements.
Maintain accurate personnel files and HR records.
Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance-related documentation.

Performance Management & Payroll Support

Assist managers with performance evaluations and review schedules.
Support employee development and training initiatives.
Process personnel changes affecting payroll.
Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate employee records.
Maintain PTO and leave records.
Verify timekeeping records as needed.

HR Administration

Update and maintain HRIS records.
Prepare employment verification letters and HR correspondence.
Generate HR reports and workforce metrics.
Assist with policy development and employee handbook updates.

Qualifications

Required

Bilingual in Spanish.
2–5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a Generalist role.
Experience supporting multiple HR functions.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with HRIS or payroll systems.
Experience with Kronos, Prestige, or eBacon.
Experience in construction, renewable energy/solar, manufacturing, transportation, or multi-state employment.
Experience with prevailing wage, certified payroll, DOT/FMCSA compliance, or audit support.
