Join a fast-scaling aerospace startup and set the standard for excellence.

Company Overview

Allocortech designs and manufactures mission-critical power electronics and avionics including motor controllers, battery management systems, power distribution, flight control, and flight termination systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS/UAM) and unmanned maritime platforms. Our customers are leaders in advanced air mobility, uncrewed aircraft, and electric watercraft. The team brings deep experience from organizations including Northrop Grumman, L3Harris, Sierra Space, and Aurora Flight Sciences.

We are a team of approximately 35 people generating roughly $10M in annual revenue. We recently closed a $6.0M Series A and are projecting 100–200% revenue growth over the next year as we scale production, expand our customer base, and professionalize the business beyond its engineering-led roots. This is a pivotal moment: we are building the executive and operational infrastructure required to support rapid, disciplined growth while protecting the speed and agility that got us here.

Role Summary

The Manager of Administration & Operations will own the day-to-day running of the office and key administrative and operational processes that keep Allocortech functioning smoothly as we grow. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, anticipates needs, builds process where none exists, and takes pride in creating an organized, professional, and positive work environment. You will support senior leaders, manage vendors and facilities, assist with HR and recruiting coordination, and help shape the culture and internal communications of a fast-scaling aerospace company.

Why This Role Exists

As Allocortech moves from a small engineering-led team into a scaled organization, administrative and operational gaps create friction, risk, and lost time for leaders. We need a capable, proactive operator who can professionalize office and administrative operations, free up senior leaders from tactical work, and build repeatable processes that support rapid hiring and growth. This role is foundational to how well the company scales over the next 12–24 months.

Key Responsibilities

Office & Administrative Operations

Own day-to-day office operations including purchasing, supply management, vendor coordination, and meeting/event planning.
Provide high-quality administrative support to key senior leaders.
Manage travel arrangements and logistics for team members as needed.
Build and maintain clear processes and documentation for administrative and operational activities.

Facilities & Workplace

Support facilities operations and the overall office environment (furniture, equipment, decor, workspace planning).
Assist with office/location considerations and continuous improvement of the physical work environment.
Ensure the office remains professional, organized, and functional as headcount grows.

People & Culture Support

Assist with HR-related activities including recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, new-hire orientation, and documentation.
Support vendor selection and management for HR and administrative services.
Help drive internal communications, company events, swag, and culture-building activities that reinforce Allocortech’s values.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.

Qualifications

Required

At least 3 years of administrative, operations, or personnel support experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated increasing responsibility and a clear commitment to professional growth.
Excellent digital literacy and proficiency with common office tools (Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office).
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive matters with discretion and diplomacy.
Ability to work independently and primarily on-site in the Crozet office.
Comfort operating in a small, growing company where roles evolve and people wear multiple hats.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
Bookkeeping experience or familiarity with QuickBooks.
Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technical / aerospace / manufacturing environment.
Experience building processes and documentation from scratch.
A genuine interest in contributing to both operational excellence and positive company culture.

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package.
