We are looking for a highly accurate, detail-oriented, and motivated professional to join our Purchasing team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who takes pride in producing quality work, embraces new challenges, and is committed to giving their best every day. Our Purchasing team plays a critical role in the sales lifecycle, ensuring customer agreements are executed accurately and efficiently. The primary responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant include reviewing contracts, placing vendor orders, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and providing exceptional customer support. This role requires managing a high volume of emails, balancing multiple priorities, and responding to changing business needs while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to stay focused in a dynamic work environment are essential to success. This is an in-office position and is not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities:

Maintain excellent external and internal customer service
Assist with all aspects of the Purchasing department:
Review contracts
Place vendor orders
Maintain recordkeeping system for the department
RMAs
Ensure information flows in a timely and accurate manner:
Track orders from placement to delivery
Maintain status accurately within internal system and external portals
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to type 70+ words per minute
Completes tasks with precision while adhering to established procedures and deadlines.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with fundamental bookkeeping procedures
Proficiency in mathematics and the ability to spot numerical errors
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to manage time and efficiently organize work

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least two years of office experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform essential job functions in an office environment
Ability to sit for extended periods and intermittently stand, walk, bend, and reach as required to perform job duties
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers
Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds
Ability to communicate effectively in person and through electronic and telephonic means
