Full Job Description

EDM Machinist

Lowell Inc, has an opening for a full time, night shift, Machinist to set up and operate EDM machines. The selected candidate will have a positive attitude, attention to detail, and be team oriented. Lowell is a leader in the precision machining of complex implants and instruments for the medical device industry. Our machinists manufacture complex lifesaving components and orthopedic implants that improve quality of life and save lives. We are committed to staying on the cutting edge of automation application.

Night Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 5pm to 3:30am

EDM Responsibilities:

· Set up and operate CNC Wire EDM Machines.

· Edit programs to maintain part quality and process efficiency.

· Manufacture conforming product through the use and interpretation of part drawings, operation instructions, manufacturing specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

· Perform in-process inspection using inspection equipment and tools to verify dimensional and surface conformity. Uses data to adjust and maintain manufacturing process as needed.

· Maintain tooling, equipment, and work area to ensure an organized, safe, and clean environment.

· Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the machines.

· Performs part finishing operations using a variety of abrasives, deburring tools and equipment.

· Collaborate with team members, quality, and engineering departments.

· Other duties as needed and assigned.

EDM Experience:

· Minimum 2 years CNC Machinist experience. Preferred experience on EDM

· Possesses advanced mechanical drawing reading skills and knowledge of GD&T.

· Understands metrology principles and how to perform inspection on complex parts.

· Strong computer skills in order to access, store, create, and log data.
