Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the accounting and finance function of a growing organization. This role will partner closely with senior leadership to oversee financial reporting, month-end close activities, internal controls, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Support the Controller in overseeing general ledger accounting activities and account reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate external audits and serve as a key point of contact for auditors.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development support.
Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
Oversee fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Partner with cross-functional departments to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and special finance projects as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience managing month-end close and audit processes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
