Full Job Description

Multi-Site Assistant Director – Operations & Education

Maggie’s Playhouse Daycare & Learning
Upper Darby and Drexel Hill, PA
$21.50-$24.00per hour | Approximately 35 hours per week | Monday–Friday

Maggie’s Playhouse Daycare & Learning is seeking an organized, creative and dependable early childhood professional to join our leadership team.

This unique position combines scheduled Pre-K Counts classroom support with enrollment, compliance, technology, marketing and daily child care operations. It is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching but is also ready to grow in administration and leadership.

Anticipated Schedule

9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.: Pre-K Counts classroom support in Upper Darby
12:00–1:00 p.m.: Unpaid lunch
1:00–1:30 p.m.: Paid travel between locations
1:30–5:00 p.m.: Operations and assistant-director support in Drexel Hill

Primary Responsibilities

Facilitate planned Pre-K Counts lessons and engaging classroom activities
Support child observations, documentation, materials and bulletin boards
Review Playground enrollment inquiries and follow up with prospective families
Send enrollment paperwork and track missing child and staff documents
Help maintain organized, inspection-ready files
Support Pennsylvania child care compliance and Keystone STARS requirements
Complete classroom walk-throughs and monitor safety, supervision and program quality
Verify inventory and other assigned administrative responsibilities
Help maintain our website and Google Business profiles
Create simple flyers, announcements and social media content
Assist with tours, family communication and enrollment efforts
Build and maintain systems that improve organization and follow-through
Provide occasional classroom or leadership coverage when needed
Complete assigned projects for the owner and center directors

Qualifications

Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Services or a related field preferred
Candidates with a degree in another field may be considered if they have qualifying early childhood coursework and experience
Must meet Pennsylvania Group Supervisor qualifications
Pennsylvania child care center director qualifications strongly preferred
At least three years of licensed child care experience preferred
Lead teacher, assistant director or child care administrative experience preferred
Knowledge of Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS or Pennsylvania child care regulations is a plus
Strong computer, communication and organizational skills
Comfortable learning Playground, Canva, Google Workspace, website platforms and other technology
Able to work with different age groups when needed
Reliable transportation and willingness to work at both locations required
Must obtain all required clearances, health documents, training, First Aid and CPR

We are looking for someone who notices what needs attention and follows through without repeated reminders. The right person will be professional, flexible, creative and comfortable balancing teaching with administrative responsibilities.

This is not a traditional classroom-only position. It is a hands-on opportunity to help two growing early learning programs remain organized, welcoming, compliant and successful.

Compensation

$21.50-24.00 per hour, based on education and experience
Approximately 35 paid hours per week
Paid travel time between locations
Monday–Friday, year-round position
90-day performance and compensation review
