Full Job Description

Under the guidance of the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for Member Employer records with regards to delinquent contributions, refunds and account maintenance. This role is the main liaison with the Funds’ Legal Counsel, IUEC Regional Directors, and IUEC Business Representatives. This role is the lead contact who oversees the audit process and is the key point of contact with the Funds’ auditors regarding the employer audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Primary contact with the Funds’ Legal Counsel and responsible for providing all information needed regarding all delinquent employers,

· Record all judgement and settlements into the employer records in Basys,

· Receive, verify, process and distribute employers with delinquent contributions,

· Create and review correspondence notes for bankruptcy and delinquency notices,

· Issue refunds to employers for overpayments of contributions and handle all other related employer issues,

· Working with employers, reverse any contributions payments due to returned checks as well as review payment options and expectations,

· Revise all employer records (contact, phone, fax, etc.) as needed, notify the rest of the contributions department as needed,

· Designated main point of contact with Funds’ auditors providing all pertinent information, entering the audit results, and produce invoices to the employers. Accountable for ensuring employer audit information is current and invoicing is up to date,

· Reconcile employer audits on a quarterly basis with auditors and maintain a schedule for completion,

· Prepare the random audit listing on an annual basis,

Provide on a quarterly basis write off listing to legal counsel,

· Investigate and correct any under or over payments, and work with employers to stop repeat issues,

· Research and review the employer’s health coverage status for their members and make determinations based off information discovered. Complete the delinquency and termination notices accordingly,

· Maintain the settlement payment schedule for employers and ensure they are abiding by the terms of the agreements and contacting legal counsel, when necessary,

· Facilitate settlement proposals along with necessary documentation to legal counsel,

· Maintain, update, and prepare the information presented to Trustees the inactive affidavit schedule for employers and owners no longer participating, as well as the audit status reports,

· Review affidavits in support of the judgements for the Executive Director’s approval,

· Assist with projects & research

· All other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

· Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or related field,

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant office experience,

· Paralegal, accounting or audit compliance experience preferred,

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Exceptional organization skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy,

· Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills,

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to utilize pivot tables and advanced excel formulas (VLOOKUP, SUM, IF, conditional IF statements),

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with various processing and reporting deadlines,

· Ability to work independently,

· Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and have timely communication with auditors and outside legal counsel,

· Versatile, flexible and a disposition to work in a deadline driven culture,

· Diplomacy and negation skills,

· Strong analytical skills,

· Must be a team player.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on the phone, and working on a computer.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
