Yorkville Pharmacy & Wellness and CPESN South Carolina are seeking an ambitious, innovative pharmacist to join our team as an Avant Institute Fellow. This unique fellowship is designed for pharmacists who want to lead change, develop innovative clinical programs, improve patient outcomes, and help transform the future of independent community pharmacy.
This is more than a fellowship. It’s an opportunity to work alongside recognized pharmacy leaders while gaining hands-on experience in clinical program development, population health, functional medicine, healthcare innovation, Medicare initiatives, business development, and independent pharmacy leadership.

What You’ll Do
As an Avant Institute Fellow, you’ll play an active role in advancing innovative pharmacy practice across South Carolina.
Clinical Program Development
- Design, launch, and expand innovative clinical services within community pharmacy.
- Assist with implementation of emerging Medicare initiatives, including ACCESS.
- Support workflow development and practice transformation.
- Help create scalable clinical service models for independent pharmacies.
CPESN South Carolina Network Support
- Support independent community pharmacies across South Carolina.
- Assist with pharmacy onboarding and implementation.
- Facilitate weekly virtual office hours for participating pharmacies.
- Provide individualized implementation support as needed.
- Develop implementation resources, workflows, and toolkits.
Population Health & Patient Care
- Build patient-centered programs focused on improving health outcomes.
- Participate in chronic disease management initiatives.
- Support aging Medicare populations through innovative care models.
- Help expand access to care through collaborative healthcare initiatives.
Functional Medicine
- Gain hands-on exposure to functional medicine within an independent pharmacy setting.
- Learn about advanced laboratory interpretation and personalized care planning.
- Participate in patient consultations and wellness program development.
- Understand how functional medicine can complement traditional pharmacy practice.
Insurance & Healthcare Navigation
- Learn the insurance agency side of pharmacy.
- Gain experience with Medicare education and enrollment.
- Understand healthcare navigation and payer relationships.
- Explore opportunities to improve patient access through insurance solutions.
Leadership & Business Development
- Learn the operational aspects of independent pharmacy ownership.
- Participate in strategic planning and business development.
- Assist with marketing and community outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate on new service implementation and growth strategies.
- Develop leadership skills through mentorship and project management.

Qualifications
Required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Licensed pharmacist in South Carolina or eligible for South Carolina licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Willingness to travel within South Carolina as needed
Preferred
- Interest in community pharmacy innovation
- Interest in population health and value-based care
- Experience in independent pharmacy, ambulatory care, or residency training
- Interest in functional medicine or integrative care
- Experience with project management, leadership, or clinical service development
