PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a results-driven Project Engineer to support a leading aviation organization in St. Charles, MO. In this role, you will bridge technical expertise with project execution—guiding cross-functional teams, managing complex work statements, and ensuring successful delivery of mission-critical aerospace programs.

Role Details

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-month assignment)
Location: St. Charles, MO
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Pay Rate:$71.00 - $81.00/hour
US Citizenship required due to Government regulations*

What You’ll Do

As a Project Engineer, you will:

Provide engineering leadership to cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders
Develop and manage Statements of Work (SOW) to support R&D, new business, and ongoing programs
Collaborate with customers and leadership to define scope, deliverables, and approvals
Evaluate and respond to changes in project scope, assessing impact to cost, schedule, and resources
Lead project execution, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives
Define and monitor performance metrics to track progress and efficiency
Plan and coordinate resources across the full project lifecycle
Identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies
Analyze actual performance against plans to drive continuous improvement and lessons learned
Deliver presentations and reports to senior and executive leadership
Support program success through data-driven decision making and reporting tools

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
4+ years of related experience in production or systems engineering
3+ years leading cross-functional teams or projects (formal or informal leadership)
4+ years of experience using project management tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
- Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros)
- PowerPoint for executive-level presentations
Experience developing metrics and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Project Management Certification (PMP)
Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt)
Experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
Familiarity with DoD contracts
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM/CAM)
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Planner

Pay Details: $71.00 to $81.00 per hour
