Full Job Description

The Albany, a cornerstone of Cheyenne's hospitality and historical scene, is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. This is an opportunity to help lead an established, well-run, and beloved institution while working alongside the General Manager to uphold the high standards our guests, team members, and community have come to expect.

As Assistant Manager, you will serve as the General Manager's primary operational partner, helping ensure exceptional guest experiences, developing our team, and maintaining consistency across every aspect of the business. You will be a hands-on leader who thrives on the restaurant floor, enjoys coaching others, and takes pride in creating an environment where both guests and employees feel welcome.

Core Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership: Support and execute the daily operations of The Albany, ensuring every shift reflects our commitment to hospitality, quality, consistency, and operational excellence. Lead by example and maintain a visible presence throughout the restaurant.

Team Leadership & Development: Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a culture built around our Vision and Values. Assist with onboarding, training, performance coaching, and recognition, helping every employee reach their full potential.

Support the General Manager: Partner closely with the General Manager to execute business objectives, implement operational initiatives, and maintain high standards throughout the restaurant. Serve as Manager-on-Duty and confidently lead daily operations during the General Manager's absence, ensuring seamless continuity for our guests and team.

Operational Excellence: Help maintain and improve systems related to inventory management, labor efficiency, food safety, sanitation, opening and closing procedures, and operational consistency. Identify opportunities to improve processes while ensuring established standards are followed.

Guest Experience: Create memorable guest experiences by actively engaging with guests, resolving concerns with professionalism and empathy, and ensuring every visit reflects the hospitality The Albany is known for.

Financial & Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, labor management, inventory controls, ordering, cash handling, and other administrative responsibilities. Support the General Manager in achieving sales, profitability, and cost-control goals while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Multi-Department Coordination: Support the successful operation and staffing of all Albany business units, including our Restaurant & Bar, Package Liquormart, Choo Choo Moo seasonal ice cream stand, Friday Night seasonal outdoor bar, and occasional catering events. Help coordinate staffing and operations to ensure each area operates efficiently and consistently.
