Full Job Description

As a Lea Team Member, you will be a part of a growing brand. We are a French cafe based in Chicago with 3 locations and growing. We make our own baguettes, croissants, pastries and desserts from scratch daily in our bakery in the French tradition. We are seeking team players who enjoy making simple, wholesome, honest food!

What You’ll Do:

Some of the key functions of a Lea Team Member will perform. They include but are not limited to:

Menu Knowledge & Food Preparation: Learn our menu and ingredients; Prep includes sandwiches, salads, tartines and croques with our housemade bread and farm ingredients.
Food Safety & Cleanliness: Follow food safety standards; maintain clean workstations throughout your shift.
Restaurant Organization, Dishwashing & Support: Maintain dish area, receive and restock, assist with kitchen tasks as necessary.
Inventory Management: monitor inventory and restock as required.
Expeditor work: prepare orders to ensure that the orders are prepared and delivered correctly to the customer.
Physical Requirements: Lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods.
Opening and closing: open and close the restaurant according to company procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week including weekdays.
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Food Handlers Certificate

Skills:

Attention to detail
Ability to work quickly under pressure
Basic knife skills
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to follow instructions
Basic math skills
Excellent hygiene practices
Teamwork: need to be able to work well with other team members.
Communication: Need to be able to communicate well with other team members.

Pay and Benefits:

Base hourly rate ranges from 16 plus tips from a tip pool which average 5/ hour so 21/ hour take home pay. We comply with Chicago work regulations in terms of paid leave and paid sick time.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
