About GLX

GLX is the freight brokerage division of The Grane Companies — a Chicago-based, family-owned transportation powerhouse approaching its centennial. The Opportunity

We're looking for an Account Manager who's ready to take real ownership of a book of business. This isn't a reactive customer service role — you'll be a trusted logistics partner to your shippers, growing revenue through consultative selling, flawless execution, and genuine relationships built on results.

What You'll Do

Manage and grow a portfolio of shipper accounts across multiple industries and freight modes
Develop a deep understanding of each customer's supply chain needs and proactively create solutions
Drive revenue growth through increased freight volume, new lanes, and expanded service offerings
Serve as the primary point of contact for your accounts — from quoting to delivery to problem resolution
Work closely with carrier sales to ensure capacity is available and service is never compromised
Analyze account performance data and present strategic recommendations to retain and grow business
Negotiate rates with existing customers and participate in RFP processes for new opportunities

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience in freight brokerage, 3PL account management, or logistics sales
Proven track record of growing accounts and retaining business — with numbers to back it up
Deep understanding of full truckload, LTL, and intermodal logistics
A hunter mentality paired with a service mindset — you win business and then you keep it
Strong communication and relationship-building skills — your customers should consider you a partner, not a vendor
Proficiency in TMS platforms and CRM tools; ability to manage data and generate reporting
Driven, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
