Full Job Description

We are a family owned packing, crating and transportation company located in the Northwest Chicago suburbs in search of a Hazmat Customer Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary liaison between preassigned customers and operations.
1-2 years’ experience handling hazardous material shipments.
Hazmat certified in and working knowledge of 49CFR, IMDG and IATA Regulations.
Must be able to obtain certification in 49CFR, IMDG and IATA
Set up and process jobs orders. Enter data into proprietary D/C Export program to generate electronic cargo receipts, packing lists, bill of ladings, invoices, and other reports.
Talk with customers by phone, email, and/or in person, and receive orders for packing, transportation, packaging products and/or other services.
Work to solve problems concerning billing, scheduling or services rendered.
Additional clerical tasks as assigned
Back up for receptionist

Experience:

MUST HAVE a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in an office setting.
MUST HAVE basic computer and typing skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
Work well with others in a group environment
Teachable and eager to learn
