210 Design House is a Chicago-based luxury kitchen, bath, cabinetry, and interiors showroom located in River North. We represent a curated collection of premier European and American brands, including Snaidero, MisuraEmme, Modulnova, and Plain & Fancy, and work closely with architects, interior designers, builders, and homeowners on residential projects throughout Chicago and beyond.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and design-minded Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant to join our team.
The Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant will support our design team with day-to-day project needs, showroom operations, client presentations, product research, samples, specifications, and administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, visually driven, and comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and wants to build a career in interior design.
Responsibilities:
Design & Project Support
- Assist designers with residential kitchen, bath, cabinetry, furniture, and interior design projects
- Research products, finishes, materials, hardware, and furnishings
- Prepare and organize samples, finish selections, and client presentations
- Assist with product specifications, pricing, quotes, and order-related documentation
- Maintain accurate project files and documentation
- Assist with CAD drawings, elevations, plans, and other design documents as needed
- Help prepare for client meetings and presentations
- Track project details, deadlines, and follow-ups
- Communicate with vendors regarding product information, availability, pricing, and lead times
- Assist with showroom displays and keeping the showroom presentation organized and elevated
- Participate in client meetings, showroom appointments, and vendor presentations as appropriate
Showroom & Team Support
- Welcome clients and design professionals to the showroom
- Knowledgeable of represented brands to be able to guide guests through the showroom spaces and be prepared to answer questions
- Maintain an organized sample library and product resources
- Assist with designer programs and industry events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred
- 1–2 years of professional experience in interior design, architecture, kitchen & bath, or a related field
- Strong interest in interior design, architecture, furniture, materials, and luxury residential interiors
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, polished, and personable demeanor
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Solid experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design software
- Knowledge of kitchen/cabinetry design is a plus, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
