Group Exercise Instructor – Part-Time (1099 Contractor)
Location: Local to You (Classes within 15–20 minutes of your home)

Kev’s Gym is a national fitness agency that partners with retirement communities across the U.S. to deliver fun, engaging, and safe fitness classes for older adults. We take care of everything behind the scenes—marketing, scheduling, customer service, billing—so you can focus on what you do best: teaching.
Role Overview
We’re looking to onboard experienced fitness professionals to lead on-site classes for seniors. Class types may include seated or standing formats of:
- Yoga
- General Exercise
- Zumba/Dance
- Tai Chi
You’ll teach at a variety of venues, including:
- Retirement and Independent Living Communities
- Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Homes
- 55+ Communities, Senior Centers, Country Clubs, and Social Clubs
Classes are typically seated but may also include some standing postures. All classes are bodyweight-only (no equipment required) and typically include 5 to 30 participants.
Responsibilities
- Instruct 45–60 minute fitness classes for older adults
- Commit to teaching 5–10 hours per week during available time blocks (9AM–12PM and/or 1PM–4PM, Monday through Sunday)
- Travel to local class locations (within a 15–20 minute radius)
- Deliver high-energy, compassionate, and age-appropriate instruction
- Represent Kev’s Gym with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm
Compensation
- Starting rates:
- $35 for 45-minute classes
- $45 for 60-minute classes
- Pay increases based on:
- Number of monthly classes taught
- Instructor performance
- Length of time with Kev’s Gym

- 45 min class: (0-20 monthly classes) or 0-1 Year Served: $35
- 45 min class: (21-40 monthly classes) or 1-2 Years Served: $40
- 45 min class: (41+ monthly classes) or 2-3 years served: $50
- 60 min class: (0-20 monthly classes) or 0-1 year served: $45
- 60 min class: (21-40 monthly classes) or 1-2 years served: $50
- 60 min class: (41+ monthly classes) or 2-3 years served: $60
Growth Opportunities
Short-term goal: We aim to schedule 1–3 introductory classes within your first three months. This helps you get your foot in the door with potential clients and lays the foundation for long-term recurring contracts.
Long-term goal: Grow to 5–10 regular hours per week over time.

Qualifications
- Experience teaching yoga, Tai Chi, dance, or general fitness
- Certification in at least one of the following:
- Yoga
- Tai Chi
- Zumba
- Personal Training
- General liability insurance (Required)
- Comfortable working with seniors, including those with disabilities
- Reliable transportation
