Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and detailed schematics that support architectural, engineering, and construction projects. Your expertise in CAD software and 3D modeling tools will be essential in translating concepts into clear, accurate plans that adhere to building codes and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects while honing your drafting skills within a collaborative environment that values creativity and precision.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed construction drawings, schematics, and design documentation using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
Utilize 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, and Revit to create accurate models for visualization and analysis.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings that meet project requirements.
Prepare construction detail documentation ensuring compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
Conduct building code analysis to verify design adherence and suggest modifications for code compliance.
Use Bluebeam for markup review, document management, and collaboration on digital plans.
Assist in building information modeling (BIM) processes utilizing Revit and ArchiCAD for integrated project workflows.
Support drafting efforts with graphic design skills, including 2D animation or interior design elements as needed for presentation purposes.
Maintain organized CAD files, version control, and detailed records of all drafting activities.

Experience

Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with MicroStation, SolidWorks, or other engineering CAD tools is a plus.
Hands-on experience in construction detail documentation and working within construction environments is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of building code standards and building information modeling (BIM) tools to ensure project compliance.
Demonstrated ability to produce precise 2D schematics and 3D CAD models for architectural or engineering projects.
Experience in interior design or graphic design can be advantageous for creating compelling visual presentations.
Prior work involving schematic development, drafting, or engineering CAD design will help you excel in this role.
Knowledge of construction processes and building code analysis will enable you to contribute effectively from concept through completion.
