Full Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of testing equipment for automotive components. The ideal candidate will leverage their understanding of mechanical principles, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, to enhance our testing capabilities. This role offers the chance to manage projects and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities:

Estimate the resources required for new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Act as a liaison with customer engineers, including site visits as necessary, to align on project requirements.
Oversee the launch of new product lines, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
Manage multiple projects across various departments, driving collaboration and efficiency.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
Serve as a technical expert for a team of engineers, providing leadership and direction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Controls, Software, Product, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Calibration Engineers, to achieve project goals.
Design, implement, and maintain advanced industrial equipment, such as testing fixtures and component testers, to ensure product quality and reliability.
Assess equipment status to determine necessary repairs, redesigns, or rebuilds, ensuring operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidworks, CATIA) for 2D drawings and 3D models, including GD&T.
Experience with 3D assembly simulation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for design optimization.
Strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and material selection.
Familiarity with prototyping and testing methodologies.
In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, structural analysis, and hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical concepts.
Experience with automation and robotic cell design.
Project management skills, technical writing abilities, and meticulous documentation practices.
