Job Description

Job Title: Outreach and CIPP Training Coordinator

Department: Resource and Referral Program

Reports to: Resource and Referral Manager

Classification: Non-exempt/hourly

VOCS Employee Responsabilities include actively supporting the Agency Policies, Mission, Vision and Values and becoming familiar with all programs operated by Valley Oak Children’s Services.

VOCS is a Strengthening Families Organization actively engaging the Strengthening Families practices and the 5 Protective Factors.

The R&R Outreach and Training Coordinator supports the Resource and Referral Program through community outreach, professional development trainings, community engagement, provider support, and representation of Valley Oak Children’s Services throughout the community.

Community Outreach and Engagement include the following:

Serve as the lead staff person for community outreach activities, events, resource fairs, and community engagement efforts.
Coordinate, schedule, and attend the majority of outreach events representing Valley Oak Children’s Services throughout the community.
Represent VOCS at community meetings, workshops, speaking engagements, networking events, and collaborative partner meetings.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, schools, childcare providers, and community partners.
Lead outreach planning, event logistics, booth setup, outreach materials, and community presentations.
Promote agency programs, family support services, community resources, and early care and education services to families and the community.
Research, collect, and share relevant child development, childcare, parenting, and community resource information.
Maintain current outreach materials, flyers, community resources, and program information.
Must be available to participate in evening and weekend outreach activities and events as assigned.

Training and Professional Development

· Coordinate and facilitate professional development trainings for childcare providers on topics including, but not limited to:

o Preventative Health and Safety

o Early Care and Education Topics

o CCIP Training

o Make and Take

o Trauma-Informed Care

o Other related topics as assigned

o Parent Café Back-Up

Development of training materials, presentations, outreach resources, educational activities, and participant materials.
Maintain training calendars, registration processes, sign-in sheets, certificates, evaluations, and required documentation.
Assist with onboarding and mentoring new staff and interns related to outreach and family engagement services.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of training requirements, community needs, and best practices related to early care and education.

Preventative Health and Safety Program

· Complete and maintain Preventative Health and Safety Train-the-Trainer certification as required.

· Understand contract requirements related to the Preventative Health and Safety Program.

· Coordinate, schedule, and provide Preventative Health and Safety trainings for childcare providers as assigned.

· Ensure Preventative Health and Safety training materials, attendance records, evaluations, and reporting documents are completed and maintained accurately.

· Communicate with providers and community partners regarding Preventative Health and Safety training opportunities, requirements, and registration information.

Back-Up Receptionist / Customer Service Support

Provide backup coverage for the VOCS Receptionist as needed.
Assist with receptionist duties, including answering phones, greeting clients and visitors, making appointments, routing calls, taking messages, and providing general communication and support services to clients and staff.
Provide excellent customer service to parents, providers, community members, and agency staff.
Assist with childcare referral questions and general community resource information when providing front desk backup.
Provide technical assistance to VOCS staff and caseworkers regarding childcare referrals and current community resources as needed.
Support smooth front desk coverage while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and a welcoming environment.

Administrative and General Responsibilities

· Operate Outlook, Microsoft Office, R&R NoHo, CEL, Canva, Zoom, Zeffy, and other agency systems as assigned.

· Participate in agency workshops, meetings, trainings, staff development opportunities, and program planning activities as assigned.

· Work collaboratively as part of the Resource and Referral team and broader VOCS agency team.

· Follow established R&R Program procedures, timelines, and documentation expectations.

· Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive community representation at all times.

· Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

· This position requires local travel, attendance at community events.

· The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and setting up outreach and training materials. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed for outreach events, trainings, booth setup, supplies, and program materials. This position may require local travel, attendance at community events, and occasional evening and weekend work.

· Strong organization and planning skills.

· Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required to perform outreach activities, trainings, and community events.

· Ability to remain calm under pressure and to demonstrate a high level of critical thinking skills.

· Excellent office skills as well as computer knowledge and input ability (powerpoint, canva, zoom, excel, word, zeffy).

· Proven leadership and communication skills in dealing with coworkers and community members

· Knowledge of community programs and resources available in Butte County.

· Ability to work as a team member and take direction, as well as the ability to take responsibility and make appropriate decisions.

· Must be available to work weekends and evenings as needed to perform outreach activities and trainings.

· Bilingual English/Spanish required; must be able to read, write, speak, and translate basic program information in both languages as needed to support families, providers, and community outreach.

· Able to prioritize tasks and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate the basis for decisions that are made.

· Ability to create and facilitate trainings for professional development.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.50 per hour
