Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of assigned programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based services. The Clinical Coordinator provides clinical leadership, staff support, program monitoring, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with agency, state, payer, and accreditation standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight

Monitor the delivery of clinical services to ensure quality and effectiveness.

Review assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries for clinical accuracy and compliance.

Ensure services are individualized, person-centered, and culturally responsive.

Assist with crisis intervention and risk management as needed.

Program Coordination

Coordinate daily operations of assigned clinical programs.

Monitor client census, admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Ensure continuity of care and coordination among multidisciplinary team members.

Assist with program development and implementation of new services.

Staff Support and Development

Provide guidance and support to therapists, case managers, group facilitators, and other clinical staff.

Assist with staff onboarding, orientation, and training.

Facilitate team meetings and case consultations.

Monitor staff productivity and service delivery expectations.

Quality Improvement and Compliance

Conduct routine chart audits and documentation reviews.

Monitor compliance with CARF, Medicaid, managed care, and state licensing requirements.

Track program outcomes and performance indicators.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and corrective action plans.

Collaboration and Communication

Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, administration, referral sources, and community partners.

Participate in treatment team meetings and leadership meetings.

Coordinate care with external providers, schools, hospitals, courts, and child welfare agencies as applicable.

Data and Reporting

Maintain program statistics and outcome measures.

Prepare reports regarding program performance, service utilization, and client outcomes.

Monitor productivity and staffing metrics.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.

LSW, LPC, MFT required.

Independent licensure preferred (LISW, LPCC, IMFT, Psychologist) or licensure eligible according to state requirements.

Minimum 3 years of behavioral health experience.

Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and behavioral health regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Knowledge of electronic health records and clinical documentation standards.

Ability to analyze data and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Documentation compliance rate of 95% or higher.

Treatment plan completion within required timelines.

Staff productivity goals met.

Client satisfaction scores.

Program census and retention rates.

Reduction in documentation errors and corrective actions.

Successful compliance with accreditation and licensing standards.
