Full Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to lead daily shipping and fulfillment operations within our compounding pharmacy. This role is responsible for overseeing a high-volume shipping department, managing a team of 20+ shipping technicians, and ensuring prescriptions are packaged and delivered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with pharmacy regulations.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands shipping logistics, and can drive team performance through KPI monitoring, process improvement, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily pharmacy shipping operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of compounded prescriptions.
Lead, coach, and manage a team of 20+ shipping technicians in a fast-paced fulfillment environment.
Recruit, hire, train, develop, and when necessary discipline or terminate employees.
Monitor and report on department KPIs including shipping accuracy, turnaround time, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate daily carrier pickups and serve as the primary contact for UPS, FedEx, and other shipping partners.
Investigate and resolve shipping issues such as delays, lost packages, and delivery exceptions.
Ensure proper packaging of medications including temperature-sensitive and cold-chain shipments.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and USP handling guidelines.
Manage shipping supplies inventory and maintain an organized and efficient shipping workspace.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance delivery reliability.
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

2–5+ years experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or pharmacy fulfillment.
2+ years supervisory or leadership experience managing teams in a high-volume environment.
Experience with shipping platforms such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced operational setting.
Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a compounding pharmacy, pharmaceutical, or healthcare distribution environment.
Familiarity with temperature-controlled shipping and cold-chain logistics.
Knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, or <800> handling practices.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
