Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting oncology and hematology clinical trials by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant entry of clinical research data. This position is responsible for abstracting data from electronic medical records (EMR) and source documents and entering it into Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems for multiple research studies. All activities are conducted under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and in accordance with federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and organizational policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Data Management & Entry

· Accurately enter clinical trial data into assigned EDC systems for multiple oncology and hematology research studies.

· Collect and abstract data from Electronic Medical Records (EMR), source documents, labs, imaging reports, and provider notes.

· Enter all study visit data into EDC systems within 48 hours of the participant visit.

· Organize, analyze, cross‑check, and validate data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Respond to sponsor queries and data clarification requests in a timely and professional manner.

Protocol & Compliance

· Review, understand, and adhere to study protocols, study schedules, and case report form requirements.

· Ensure research activities are conducted in compliance with federal regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), sponsor guidelines, and internal SOPs.

· Support monitoring visits, audits, and inspections by maintaining organized and accurate data documentation.

· Report identified protocol deviations or potential non‑compliance issues to appropriate leadership.

Adverse Event & Safety Reporting

· Grade adverse events using the CTCAE (Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events) system.

· Identify and report qualifying Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) to the Regulatory Department for timely submission.

· Assist with maintaining accurate safety documentation within study records.

Communication & Collaboration

· Communicate with physicians, nurses, hospitals, and outside clinics to obtain missing data or verify information accuracy.

· Collaborate closely with research coordinators, regulatory staff, and clinical teams to support study operations.

· Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity at all times.

Additional Responsibilities

· Adhere to research workflows, timelines, and productivity expectations.

· Participate in research team meetings, training, and ongoing education.

· Perform other research‑related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Strong computer skills and attention to detail

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook/Email)

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

· Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

· Prior experience in clinical research, oncology, hematology, or healthcare

· Experience working with EMR systems

· Experience with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems

· Familiarity with clinical trial processes, GCP, or regulatory standards

Work Environment

· Clinical research and medical office setting

· Frequent computer use and data entry

· Interaction with clinical staff, providers, and research sponsors

· May require sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of files or supplies
