FRONT DESK REPRESENTATIVE

OneHealth Primary Care is looking for a dynamic, outgoing individual to work as our Front Desk Floater. This Fronk Desk Float position will cover as Team Members are on scheduled PTO. The coverage schedule is provided on a monthly basis for ample notice. The Front Desk Representative is responsible for facilitating the patient flow in the clinic by providing the support services necessary to schedule and register patients, answer phones, assign tasks, and provide support to the clinical office staff and providers. The Front Desk Representative is often the patient's first contact with OneHealth Primary Care and, as such, is responsible for presenting a caring, professional, and positive image of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Welcome & Greeting of patients and visitors.
Maintains daily productive patient workflow.
Follows Standards for Service Excellence for OneHealth Primary Care.
Schedules patients on designated EMR to the organization's specifications, making sure all pertinent information is obtained.
Answer large call volume.
Medical records requests.
Obtaining any necessary medical records from outside healthcare facility
New Patient Registration
Completing tasks with our EMR portal in a complete and timely manner.
Maintains the physicians schedule, including meetings, physician time off, and other commitments to ensure smooth patient flow.
Monitors all calls for purposes other than appointments and forwards to appropriate personnel.
Take accurate and complete messages as instructed.
Verifies and/or updates patient's demographic and insurance information at the time of patient check in.
Collects the correct co-pay/office payment at the time of check in.
Follows cash reconciliation policies and procedures to include handling insurance checks and payment on accounts.
Makes corrections of entry errors from work files as directed by the supervisor.
Checks and responds to emails in a timely manner
Observes OneHealth Primary Care policies and procedures with regard to attendance, punctuality, and appropriate use of sick leave and vacation.
Provides a professional role model for other personnel in performance of duties.
Must have the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Provides support and assistance to other team members to achieve departmental and clinic goals.
This person will have a professional, well groomed appearance to include proper work attire that is clean and neat.
Supports effort to comply with HIPAA, patient confidentiality and security requirements.
Establishes and maintains effective working relations with other departments.
Willingly accepts new responsibilities as the role of position evolves.
Performs other duties as assigned.

*REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience:

Minimum of three years experience in a busy medical office front desk setting

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Knowledge of commonly used medical terminology,
Knowledge of basic computer systems, Athena EMR a plus
Ability to type 35 words per minute
Excellent telephone etiquette
Understanding of general office functions and ability to perform such duties
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
High integrity and confidentiality required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong operations and computer industry systems exposure
Pleasant interactions with coworkers, patients and medical staff is a requirement of the job.
Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a quick and efficient manner
Must be able to sit and type for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time-Monday-Friday-7:45 AM to 5:00 PM
