Full Job Description

Bookkeeper / Tax Preparer (Preferred)

Location: Fort Worth, TX (In-Office)Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

We are a growing public accounting firm in Fort Worth seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an in-office position with opportunities for professional growth. Experience preparing tax returns is a strong plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

Perform full-charge bookkeeping for multiple business clients
Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet accounts
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
Record journal entries and adjusting entries
Process client payroll accurately and on time
Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, including Forms 941, 940, W-2s, W-3s, state payroll reports, and other required payroll filings
Prepare and file sales tax reports
Assist with new employee setup and payroll maintenance
Review payroll reports for accuracy and resolve payroll-related issues
Assist clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting questions
Maintain organized electronic client files and documentation
Work closely with tax preparers to ensure complete and accurate financial records
Prepare individual and business income tax returns (preferred but not required)
Assist with year-end tax planning and tax return preparation

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop (required)
Experience processing payroll and preparing payroll tax reports
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Ability to manage multiple clients while meeting deadlines
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Tax preparation experience is highly preferred
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required
